Preferences

Prefer: tercih etmek
Use: Herhangi iki varlıktan birini ya da iki fiilden birini tercih etmemiz gerektiğinde ‘prefer' fiilinin değişik formları kullanılır.
Yapılan cümlelerde kullanılan zaman ‘The Simple Present Tense'tir.

1. PREFER STH TO STH

İsimleri tercih ederken kullanılan yapıdır.
a) sandwich / hamburger
I prefer sandwich to hamburger.
b) western films / science fiction films
My sister prefers western films to science fiction films.

2. PREFER DOING STH TO DOING STH

Fiilleri tercih ederken kullanılan yapıdır.
a) cycling / driving a car
I prefer cycling to driving a car.
b) going shopping / watching TV
Ayşe prefers going shopping to watching TV
“Fiillerin sonuna eklenen ‘– ing' takısına dikkat ediniz.
Formula: I/You/We/They + prefer + V(ing) + to + V(ing)
he/she/it + prefers + V(ing) + to + V(ing)
